Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! January 23, 2008

It’s freezing in NH and the photo biz is slow..I don’t know why people don’t want their pics taken in this glorious weather. But we have lots of administrative stuff to do anyway, plus my kids are really happy to PECK me to death all day. I’m serious..they have tons of toys and they have each other,but they’d rather follow me around the house trying to wipe their boogy noses on me. Gus has taken to slamming his hands on the computer whenever he can. Think he;s trying to tell me something?

Anyway, I want to share another one of my favorite photo things of late. I recently got some actions from Nichole Van and I love them! Photoshop is like magic and Nichole really knows how to work it. Check out the below pictures of the before and after actions – don’t you LOVE it??

Funky in the New Year January 10, 2008

Here are my kid-lets. We went to the ocean on a gorgeously overcast day in October and I got some really great shots. This one isn’t super-sharp, but it’s still my favorite. This is about as close as I ever come to taking a posed shot, but it was for the Christmas card. You gotta love where we live in NH – an hour to the mountains, an hour to the ocean and an hour and a bit to Boston.

So, my New Year’s resolution LAST year was to be more funky, more hip…In my own twisted mind, I am already funky and hip, but outwardly I am getting more momish all the time. In fact, it’s worse than that. I’ve had thoughts about the other women at my daughter’s school saying, “Who is that bag lady talking to Isabel?? Someone better call securi……..OH…..it’s her mother. Heheheheh (nervous laughter).

Last year I bought a pair of purple cords. That was the extent of my funkiness – I blew my resolution big time, so this year I have the same resolution. You’ll never believe what I found online to support me in my quest for funkiness! www.myfunkycamera.com !!!!!! Can you BELIEVE it???? I immediately ordered a new camera strap with hipster flowers all over it in bright colors. Gabi, the funk behind the site, makes all kinds of super cool camera straps and lens cozies. My husband chided me for buying myself a present just before Christmas, but I didn’t care. SO, I am well on my way to becoming a permanent resident in the Land of Funky.
